I got a used Keihin CV carb off ebay for my '69 XLCH 900. I messed with a few slow jets, shims under the needle and mixture screw settings. Got it to start easily (magneto), idle good, run good and get good MPG (mid 40s). But could not get rid of the occasional carb hesitation. Read about the Velocity Needle on the XLFORUM so I gave it a try. It was the final key. Not only did the carb farts stop but I went down one pilot jet size to a 42. Starts, idles and runs great. Plugs are burning just right (Auotlite AT 42) and MPG is mid 40s around town. I'm ordering one for my 2004 Roadster 1200.

Last summer I did a Daytona twin tech ignition system, woods cams, 2into1, and a bunch of other stuff. I never could get the carb just right so I bought this needle last year shortly before I blew my clutch hoping it would help but didn’t have high hopes. Yesterday I finally got around to fixing everything, I installed the needle and holy s*** it has made a WORLD of difference! Everything is just better and I have very very minimal decel pop now. I can’t recommend this product enough. It’s helped so much that I’m considering sticking with the CV carb and not going to a flat slide.

Amazing product, even throttle response from the bottom, no flat spots whatsoever like on stock needle. I run with cvp accelerator pump nozzle and emultion tube. With single fire ignition, high flow ac and 2-1 pipe I get 62-64mpg just cruising on my 80”evo FXR which is insane. My bike rips like crazy.

I was using a dyno*** adjustable needle in my CV carb. I put this CVP needle in and wallah! Smooth and crisp throttle response! Something my bike has never had. Solid upgrade and made a HUGE difference over the dynojet needle.
Way better than grinding stock or shimming. With cam exhaust breather runs better than FI, no flat spots etc.
