I fitted the needle, needle jet and emulsion tube into my ‘89 XLH carb with over 100,000 miles on it. What a difference! The bike ran well anyway, but the ‘doughy’ feeling when cold has completely gone. Throttle response also better. I didn’t touch the jetting or idle speed, didn’t need to. Awesome

Stock twin cam 88. This needle makes the stock one look like a tree trunk. I put this and a 48 jet in and the bike jumps when you twist the throttle at 30mph. No hesitation and no pop on decel. Twist it at 70 and it will get to 90 respectfully where before, you heard the exhaust but the speedo didn't move. To do better, you would have to change cams.
Works excellent no more carb pops.
Best CV needle out there, bar none. The old Sportster needle trick worked fine years ago when there were really no other alternatives. Now, I won't use any other needle in my CV's except this one from CVP. It's that good.
I always had trouble with lean carb issues in cool weather. even with jet changes, bike would run good all summer, but soon as cool weather, it would stumble. changing to the velocity needle fixed all that. Spark plugs have better color now too, bike runs good at all RPM. Try it, its easier than shimming the stock needle, change it and your done.
